Greetings!
In
June of 2000, I was diagnosed with a pancreatic tumor that would later
be diagnosed as malignant. In the following months, I would learn
many hard facts about pancreatic cancer. I would like to share a few
of these realities with you.
- Pancreatic
cancer has the highest mortality rate of any cancer.
- It
is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the United States.
- Pancreatic
cancer is 99.66% fatal to those with metastasis, or spread, disease.
- For
all pancreatic cancer patients, 98% die within 5 years.
- There
is no known cure for pancreatic cancer.
- There
is no known diagnostic screening test for pancreatic cancer.
- The
vast majority of pancreatic cancer victims do not know they have the
disease until the disease has progressed to an irreversible state.
Pancreatic
cancer has touched many thousands of lives. Some of the more well known
pancreatic cancer victims are "Bonanza" and "Little House
on the Prairie" star Michael Landon, Comedian Jack Benny, "Herman
Munster" actor Fred Guinn, Dancer Juliet Prowse, Richard Crenna,
music composer Henry Mancini, Lillian and Billy Carter, mother and brother
of former president Jimmy Carter and thousands and thousands of talented,
beloved people across America and the world.
I
am a prime example of what can happen when pancreatic cancer is diagnosed
in an early stage. I underwent surgery, had my tumor removed and have
not had a single dose of radiation or chemotherapy. Today, I am totally
free of cancer and doing well! Early detection works! Thank God for
his mercy and goodness!
I
am asking you to do something very simple today. Would you please take
a moment of your time to check out the web site listed on the top of
this page? PANCAN is a pancreatic cancer advocacy group attempting to
raise awareness of this dreaded disease. You can make a great impact
by praying, learning, and raising awareness of pancreatic cancer.
Thank
you for your time and remember, keep praying for a breakthrough in the
fight against pancreatic cancer.
In
God's Grace,
Dale
